along Philadelphia’s waterfront
It will be celebration time on Penn’s Landing this summer! From the
Bank of America R&B concert series and the Philadelphia Doo-Wop
Festival during July and August, to the Unity Weekend on the
Waterfront and Radio 104.5’s “Totally Free Concert” at the end of
August, there is no shortage of mid-summer fun along the city’s central
waterfront.
African-American revelers will certainly get a chance to explore
their own cultural heritage. The aesthetics of the African Motherland
will be the hall mark of the ACANA African Festival in early August.
Those who want to discover other parts of their family tree or the heritage
of others may want to check out events like the Cherokee
Celebration, the Hispanic Fiesta and even the Festival of India.
So, why not plan to spend those “dog days of summer” enjoying
the wide range of talent and showcases of the City of Brotherly Love?
Let’s take a trek down the 2008 summer schedule for Penn’s
